creative group at Carr Gomm Scotland 2006

In 2006 , following the work with a pilot group, I worked creatively with a group of 5 people with mental health problems at Carr Gomm Scotland in Edinburgh (http://www.carrgomm.org/)

My aims for this group were :

-to increase their confidence and self esteem, by setting and achieving achievable goals.

-to promote their social and communication skills , by working together with other people towards a goal and exploring new ways of expressing ideas, opinions, feelings.

-to explore their potential  and discover new interests.

-to co-operate and have fun with other people.

-to promote personal growth through group work.

This painting is the outcome of their working together for 8 sessions ..(plus a lot of fun working on the story of the boat and doing drama improvisations on that story) :
